Is leaving MBA a reasonable choice if I don't get a good SIP? How different is final placement scenario from the SIP?

Question :snoo_thoughtful:

For context, I am the last and only person from my class who is yet to receive even a single shortlist. I have workex of 3 years, an engineering from non-reputed college (NIRF 200-300), a profile of 9/6/8 and few PORs here and there. More than half of the batch has already received offers, and remaining all of them from my class barring me have at least received shortlists of any sort.

At this point I am considering dropping the course altogether if the 6 in my profile is going to play that big of a role. This way I may not receive degree of placements but I would save on the remaining fees which are yet to be paid. Although they say that the process is random and many companies are yet to come, I don't want to end up going for company which comes to take the residual batch. I personally believe that while I may not be the smartest person in the room, I am not the dumbest (although the MBA journey tells otherwise).

Just want to know how final placements take place and is it worth a shot, and worth staying 1 more year and paying additional fees of B-school? Want to know the ground reality as I think opinion of my seniors can be highly biased. Thanks in advance :)
