Home stay programs

Before going into my freshman year of college, I want to do community service internationally. I’m thinking about going to Spain or the Caribbean or places like the Dominican Republic. I was wondering if anyone had insight on what/how I should go about this as well as input on places and any other details regarding home stays and community service.
