Minor Injury Question
Good morning all! I’m just wondering if anyone has experienced this. I’m waiting on more info from my union rep, but I’m really annoyed so I thought I’d ask you fine people!
So I tore a tiny chunk of skin off at work on a rusty cart, it was just enough to bleed and I haven’t had a tetanus shot recently. Of course that was my main concern, so when I reported it I mentioned that. We wiped it off, used antiseptic spray, slapped a bandage on it. I was then given a piece of paper to write what happened so I mentioned it to a more senior supervisor. She said the same thing, write what happened and turn it in.
Later I was told I am an “at-will” employee since I’m not career and I needed to decide if I wanted to get a shot/seek medical attention, they won’t send me and I will likely have to pay out of pocket. Is this really a thing?? Then I was told if I seek medical attention after work, I have to tell them and fill out an accident report on my next shift. I know I’m just a measly MHA, but damn…
