permanent crown pain

i am experiencing pain when chewing and sensitive to hot and cold with my permanent crown. is that normal? its been 2 weeks. i already gone back twice for bite adjustments. there is no pain before the permanent crown is cemented. how long should i wait it out before considering a root canal?
