Has there been an update in DCB Metal eligibility requirements?

I have seen two of my friends getting DCB metal as a pre-approved option in their HDFC app. I know their earnings are less than 2.5 Lakh/month and the reason why its surprising, is that both of them do not have any credit history, and are first time credit card holders.

(I also have DCB Metal and do not earn 2.5/month but in my case it was the cc bills which made the case)

Just curious if anyone has any idea about it.
