Refused PIP and scored 0 on all requirements
Hi everyone,
Been in a long process lately of trying to get my partner onto PIP.
Shes been suffering with Chronic Pains since Covid, and while we’re yet to get an official diagnosis for her, the doctors have said all signs are pointing to Fibromyalgia.
My partner has been struggling to work, and take care of herself without assistance for several years, but it’s been getting worse over the last year or so, to the point where she’s basically having to call in sick to near enough all of her shifts at work, and I’m being forced into paying for both of us to live. We’re barely surviving each month.
After trying to battle with UC, who deem that because I earn ‘enough’ that she shouldn’t get any benefit. So we tried to go down the PIP route.
They’ve just sent back an extremely condescending letter, in which they have ‘decided’ that she is able to do all the things she says that she can’t do properly (cook, cloth and work) because they have asked her what she able to do on a good day, and seem to have decided that the good days are every day, despite her saying that the good days are becoming more few and far between.
We’re going to appeal the decision, because it seems they have taken the complete wrong end of the stick and using her good days as a way of measuring her every day ability.
Any suggestions on what we can do to make this go in our favour, as she’s ready to give up with the whole process, and I can’t bare to watch her suffer anymore
