i hate office lunches

i kind of enjoy my new job. coworkers are okay for the most part. i just hate the lunches.

they’re not mandatory, but when you only have 15 people in your office, it’s kind of obvious when someone isn’t there or awkward if i’m the only one staying behind.

when i do go i always feel out of place and when i try to participate or engage others in conversation im talked over or ignored. not sure what im doing wrong.

idk maybe i dont really like my coworkers all that much and/or vice versa. maybe i dont fit in with the culture.

just waiting for the day i can respectfully decline the invitation and spend my lunch hour doing what i want.
