ENOV CEO bought ~$250K near $19 after previously buying near $31. Stock keeps falling despite ~5x forward adjusted P/E. What is the market seeing?
I've been digging into Enovis (ENOV), and this is one of the more interesting battleground setups I've encountered recently.
CEO Damien McDonald bought approximately $250K near $19 after previously buying roughly $200K near $31. Other executives have also purchased shares during the decline.
Meanwhile, the bullish side includes heavy institutional sponsorship, broadly positive analysts, improving operating cash flow and a forward adjusted P/E around 5x.
Then there's the other side:
ENOV has substantial short interest, weak GAAP profitability, leverage/integration concerns, and the eCential Robotics acquisition creates near-term margin dilution.
Most importantly, momentum remains terrible.
I think that's what makes this much more interesting than simply saying “cheap stock + insider buying = buy.”
The question I'm trying to answer is:
Is price correctly anticipating fundamental deterioration—or has fear outrun the deterioration?
I wrote up the complete bull/bear case here.
Curious how others following ENOV interpret the repeated insider buying. What do you think the market is pricing that insiders/analysts may be missing?
