How much should I budget for a Private Pilot License (PPL) in the Philippines?

Question

Hi everyone! I’m from Mindanao and currently working in the software development and I’m seriously considering taking a different career path and learning to fly.

I already have a college degree, but I don’t come from a wealthy background, so I’m trying to figure out if becoming a private pilot is financially realistic for me.

For those who have taken or are currently taking a Private Pilot Course/PPL in the Philippines, what would be a realistic ballpark total cost from start to finish?

I’m particularly interested in:

Flight school/training fees
Number of flight hours typically needed
Medical/certificate fees
Ground school
Written/practical exams
Other expenses I might not be aware of
I’m not necessarily planning to become an airline pilot immediately. I’d like to start with a PPL and see where it takes me.

Also, if you’re someone who transitioned into aviation from a completely different career, I’d love to hear about your experience.

I’m basically trying to figure out: “Can an average working professional afford this if they’re willing to save and work toward it?”

Any advice, experiences, or rough figures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
