Facebook disabled my account after my Instagram was compromised. No appeal available
Hello,
My Instagram account was compromised today and the attacker used it to send the same scam message to around 200 of my contacts.
I regained control of Instagram, changed the password, enabled 2FA and checked the active sessions and connected apps. Everything looks secure now.
A few hours later, my Facebook account was disabled.
The strange part is that:
- My Facebook and Instagram accounts were connected.
- I did not post or send anything on Facebook related to the scam.
- The only thing I posted on Facebook that day was a Story saying that my Instagram had been compromised.
- I can still log in with my password and complete 2FA successfully.
- After logging in, I am immediately taken to the disabled-account screen saying that I can no longer request another review.
- I have never submitted an appeal for this decision.
- My Threads account was also disabled around the same time.
I have already tried the normal recovery/appeal routes, but they all lead back to the same disabled-account screen.
I also had a Facebook business Page connected to the account, so I have lost access to that as well.
Has anyone experienced something similar after an Instagram account compromise?
If you managed to recover your Facebook account, what exact route did you use? Did you manage to reach a human review or support agent?
Thanks.
