Would reading a bunch of the old forrest mims RadioShack books be helpful today?

I recently got an opportunity to get a bunch of them for cheap but I wonder if it would be a waste of time? (cause I only really see hobbyist’s mention them and whether the engineering specific stuff would be applicable to what people do today in general) I’m pre college leaning towards engineering especially ee

I believe they are the getting started in electronics book and a bunch of the engineers mini notebooks may be more though
