been an accountant for one month and my managers say I’m learning too slowly ! is this fair?
I was recently hired as an accountant for one of the companies under a holding group. My direct manager, whose role is to guide me and teach me what I need to do accounting-wise, always arrives late to work.
I feel like I’m learning slowly, and the worst part is that the managers and the CFO are blaming me for being slow, even though there are still many things I haven’t discovered or learned yet. Today marks exactly one month since I started.
Do you think they have the right to criticize me? I’m genuinely trying to give it my best, but the problem isn’t really coming from me.
