27" GIGABYTE MO27Q2A ( my first OLED ) Ps5 and some PC gaming
Hi Guys!
So i went and bought me this nice monitor on a good offer at my local dealer.
I mostly play ps5 Call of duty and soon GTA6.
Up untill now ive had a LG 27" UltraGear 27GL83A-B.
My gaming pc ( i5 and 3060ti is connected with hdmi ) and ps5 also the same.
at first glance on my ps5 when i booted it was like wow. nice deep colors. black is black etc. I see details in cod mp maps, which i havent noticed before lol.
the same on pc. so i got more interested, and started downloading OLED friendly games, such as Ori and the will of wasp, ratched and clanket and ghost of tsushima, on pc.
BEautifull. So now i got more interested, and started to learn about HDR.
i downloaded the HDR tool for windows and started calibrating etc.
lerned about the nits etc. and to calibrate the same values in game. I used chatgpt to learn and guide me through it.
So gpt recommended me to use hrd 1000 nit, on the OSD menu. and crank the value up to 1000 in the HDR calibration . eventhouh the Grey squares vanishes around 480 nits.
the result was good i think. games looks color correct and all. BUT.. here it comes..
please dont kill me :D i really really love the HDR VIVID mode on my screen to be honest.
the dark and lights pop out so much more, give me a more WOW effect, even through it might not be 100% color correct -
so here i am now on HDR vivid mode on pc and ps5.
however on my when i want to use it as desktop . non HDR content, i just switch off the HDR mode in windows right. ?
Should i go back to reclibrate HDR on pc and ps and set the monitor to HDR Game?
those who have the same monitor as me, what mode do you use?
