Felix decided Labor Day weekend was the weekend to stop using the litter box. I noticed he was straining either Friday night or Saturday morning idr. I remember yelling at my husband because he always thinks everything will work out and I always think worst case scenario 🥲🤣 anyways, so come Monday morning Felix is going to the litter box like 15 times in a span of 30 minutes. We have a camera from a precious urinary issue and having four cats the camera helps in these scenarios. So I start freaking out because it’s Labor Day, I find an emergency vet, i tell her boy cat straining to pee and poor girl was only doing her job saying to come in because that’s an emergency in male cats especially because it could be a blockage which I’m well aware of but she doesn’t know that so I’m like I KNOW CAN I COME NOW as I’m sobbing, so we get there, they take him back immediately to palpate his bladder. We were there for like four hours. He was so brave. After some fluids and more gabapentin he got sent home because his bladder wasn’t extremely large and hard. Overall he has flutd, probably because he’s a little too chunky :p today he managed to release some urine like twice! Not a lot but it’s improvement!!

TLDR: my problem fur baby decided to protest his litter box and so we rushed to the ER on Labor Day, costing a pretty penny to overall be okay-ish. Still monitoring, but has had slight improvement.
