I got my WhatsApp Business account back after 60 days — sharing everything I learned in case it helps someone else

Today, exactly one day before hitting 60 days, I recovered my WhatsApp Business account. I was b4nned with no clear reason given. Here's what I believe were the two possible causes, everything I learned along the way, and what actually happened during the process.

Possible reason #1: Spam / starting too many new conversations
I had already been restricted once before for this — not a full b4n, just a temporary block on starting new chats while I could still use WhatsApp normally otherwise. Even after that, in the days leading up to the full ban, I had already reduced how often I started new conversations, but it still happened.

Possible reason #2: An inappropriate sticker
I sent a slightly inappropriate sticker to a friend. His account got banned almost immediately afterward — permanently, at first — and then it was automatically restored about a week later. That same day, I got banned too. So this might have been a factor, though I'm still not 100% sure which of the two caused it.

What I want to tell people going through this right now:

Don't waste your time trying to reach WhatsApp/Meta support or chasing anyone there. Whatever you get back is AI-generated, and it will not give you a real solution or a real human review. Save your energy.

You can create an alternate WhatsApp account, but be careful how you use it. Do NOT link it to WhatsApp Web (browser version), and do NOT immediately message all your contacts announcing your new alternate number. Doing that will get the new number restricted and ba’’ed too. I never linked WhatsApp to the WhatsApp Web browser again — I only used the WhatsApp Web app version, which worked fine, with a different number I also use for business in another country.

I never deleted WhatsApp, and I never re-registered my number. I kept the app installed the whole time, with my backup intact, and just waited it out. I don't know if reinstalling or re-registering would have changed anything, but I didn't touch it.

Stay calm — after 60 days, it CAN come back, along with all the chats you had up to your last backup.

Around day 30, you'll get removed from all your groups, and your number will start showing as "Invite to WhatsApp" to your contacts. It's hard to see, but it's part of the process — it passes.

On day 59, out of nowhere, it told me my account had been restored and I could use it again.

Don't immediately message everyone the second you get your account back. Doing that risks getting restricted again. Ease back into it. I did this and got restricted again yesterday, but got it back after a couple of hours.

Yes, you do get your chats back — don't lose hope.
