Why is the kukirin g2 so cheap?

So I did some quick research for a reliable e scooter but I also want it to be fast, I checked on kukirins website and the g2 is currently priced at 500 bucks. Isnt that like really cheap for a higher class e scooter? I also saw some sites having it priced at its original 1000 bucks but I double checked the authenticity of the website I saw it in and it seems legit. Any thoughts?
