No luck with the hunt!
I genuinely need to know if anyone else is experiencing this because I’m starting to feel like I’m doing something wrong.
I’ve been job searching for MONTHS and have easily applied to over 100 positions at this point. A huge portion of my applications on Indeed don’t even seem to get viewed. I’m not even talking about getting rejected — they literally just sit there.
I’ve also tried going outside of Indeed. If a listing says to email a résumé directly, I email it. No response. I’ve called offices to follow up and gotten “let me take down your name and number and have someone get back to you,” and then…nothing.
I have work experience, I’m applying to positions I’m actually qualified for, and I’m not only applying to super competitive/high-paying jobs. I genuinely just need a job ASAP.
For people who are actively job searching in 2026 and ACTUALLY getting interviews/offers:
Where are you applying?
Are you still using Indeed?
Are you applying directly on company websites instead?
Are there other job boards that are actually working for you?
Are you contacting recruiters/staff directly?
And is the whole “application never even viewed” thing happening to everyone else too?
I’m starting to wonder how many of these listings are actually actively hiring versus old listings, ghost jobs, résumé collecting, etc. I don’t want to keep sending out hundreds of applications using a method that clearly isn’t working.
I’d especially love to hear from anyone looking for administrative, healthcare office/front desk, receptionist, patient service, or similar work.
What is ACTUALLY getting you interviews right now?
