Is there usually a lot of added price in US dealer transactions?

For reference i am new to this hobby, and often I’ll see a bike being sold secondhand for not much cheaper than new(the ad that triggered this post was a 2019 Yamaha TW200 for only 700 or so less than msrp, but Hondas are usually the ones, 10+ year old cb300s for only about 1000 less than msrp for a brand new one. Is the dealer experience that bad? Do they add 2-3k or something?
