is it okay to ask to split the flight money?

we’re both 17 and both have jobs however with her parents it’s highly unlikely that she’ll be able to fly over anytime soon (colorado to uk) so i’m going to fly over there, however i do have the money but idk if it’s fair to ask if she’s willing to split the tickets. i do have enough money but not much after i buy the tickets and i’ll likely need it soon. she did offer to pay for a bit if needed and she also makes $18 an hour (i make £8). im just wondering for people’s opinion as it’s not necessarily an issue but it would help lots.
