This is assumes aliens are stupid and think the morons in charge are actually in charge in reality. Given that aliens have been present throughout most of known human history in some capacity, I'm pretty sure they understand the political dynamics that exist probably better than we do. Most of the regimes are feckless idiots with political ambitions. Now if said aliens were malevolent, we'd be under their rule by now. But yea "disclosure" by this and other regimes could be an attempt at a global coup to subvert the will of the people. But given the absolute incompetence and idiocy by this regime in the other mentioned attempts to take over other nations, I mean, an ADVANCED ALIEN civilization? For all we know, we could be a glorified antfarm and said ETs will just say "ok bleeborp, fuck all this noise shake up the antfarm" and then great flood our asses with a couple Noahs out there to start things over again.
