Mass v. Clancy
I just read that Kevin Reddington publicly reached out to the President about his client. He never used the word pardon, but the media seems to be reading his comments that way. He did, however, mention the President directly.
Reddington doesn’t strike me as someone who would make a statement like this without thinking it through. And he knows the President can’t pardon his client. The only explanation I can come up with is that he’s signaling to a future jury, and invoking the President’s name because he thinks it might help his client.
Does anyone have other ideas about why Reddington would bring the president into this?
