How do you deal with wisdom tooth pain?

I’ve had pain in my wisdom teeth for the past 2 years but lately it’s been even worse. I’ve been on the NHS removal waiting list for about a year now and finally got my x-ray appointment but it could still be months until the actual extraction.

The issue is my teeth are growing leaning down back into my gums and pushing against my other teeth, their position also causes bad jaw clicking. They’re also spikey so catch my gum a lot which then causes mouth ulcers.

I have to be patient to get them out as my dentist said that because of the positioning they’ll have to be taken out at the hospital so I just have to wait out the waiting list but idk what to do in the meantime.

I ice my jaw sometimes and take painkillers but sometimes that doesn’t even help much 😩
