I was unemployed in Toronto for 18 months. I want to pay it forward to this sub by offering free high-level LinkedIn profile reviews.
I moved to Canada back in 2023 and spent almost 18 months unemployed.
I know the exact feeling of refreshing empty inboxes, tailoring endless resumes into the void, and watching savings burn down. During that brutal stretch, r/TorontoJobs was one of the few places that kept me grounded. I have been an active member here for over three years.
In fact, this sub directly changed things for me. I spotted a vacancy post here during election season, applied, and ended up getting hired as a recruiter. Once in that role, I came right back to this exact community and posted opportunities to recruit fellow job seekers who needed work just like I did.
Seeing the daily posts from people feeling exhausted, discouraged, and stuck hits uncomfortably close to home.
Recently, I commented on a thread over on r/CanadaJobs offering some practical guidance to someone job hunting. Another member, Shazad Ali, saw that comment and reached out directly. He was an experienced professional looking to pivot his career into IT.
I gave his LinkedIn profile an honest, high-level review of what tech recruiters look for and how to fix his search visibility. His reaction meant a lot to me. He was kind enough to support me on Buy Me a Coffee and left a generous note about how much the review helped him.
That conversation reminded me of where I was a couple of years ago, and I want to give back to the Toronto community that supported me from day one.
Here is what I am offering for free:
Drop a comment below or send me a DM with your LinkedIn profile link. I will give your profile a complimentary, high-level review to spot blind spots, optimize your headline and keywords for recruiter searches, and align your positioning.
A quick note on scope:
To manage my time, the high-level LinkedIn profile review is the only thing I am offering for free.
I will not be doing deeper services at no cost. If you are looking for in-depth profile overhauls, dedicated mock interviews, interview coaching, or structured career strategy sessions, those are part of my paid services. You can send me a DM to discuss those requirements and we can go over the payment details there.
