y12 looking into different courses + alevel combos
hi, i've just started y12 and i am looking at uni courses a little early and i really have a passion for economics/human geography something along those lines. the two courses im leaning towards are econ history and geography or politics and IR. i current study geography economics sociology and maths, but im thinking of swapping either sociology or maths for german. my parents want me to keep maths lol but i really do not like maths and i struggled with it a bit even in the first few lessons of y12. my gcses werent the best as i am currently at a good grammar school, i got 88888888876 in gcse, 7 was rs and 6 was art
i was just wondering if i really needed maths for these two courses and if anyone got in with a similar combo as i really dont think i would be good maths later down the line.. also was wondering if anyone had any ideas for interesting supercurriculars for these courses? currently looking at a few econ/geog essay comps and a few books my teachers recommended, wanted to start doing things i could add to my ps early in the year as i feel like my gcse grades are quite lacking compared to other lse applicants. any tips for these courses and thoughts to make me stand out would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!
