Small claims judgment collecting payment
I recently won a small claims judgment in Henderson, Nevada against an LLC. The business was properly served but didn’t show up to court, so a default judgment was entered in my favor. I sent them a written demand for payment afterward, but they’re still not responding or paying. The business is still actively operating, so I’m trying to figure out the best way to actually collect. Henderson Justice Court has forms for an Examination of Judgment Debtor, Writ of Execution, and Writ of Garnishment. I don’t know what bank the LLC uses, so I’m wondering if the debtor examination should be my next step. Since the judgment is against an LLC, who would actually be required to appear for the examination, and how is that person served? Has anyone here successfully collected a small claims judgment against an active Nevada LLC? What steps did you take, and how long did it take to actually receive your money?
