Need career advice: 2025 grad with 1 yr IT support internship
Hello everyone,
I’m currently unemployed and hoping to get some guidance from people already working in tech or computer engineering. I’m honestly feeling a bit lost on what my next move should be.
For some background: I graduated in 2025 with a BSc Hons in Advanced Networking and Cyber Security. Right after, I got an internship doing daily IT support, which I just finished up after a year.
Right now, my main focus is Linux. I have confident intermediate-level knowledge and I’m planning for preparing for RHCSA certification. My ultimate goal is to get into hardcore, top-level security roles in the future, so I’m trying to build a really solid ground-level grasp of systems and networking first.
The issue is, I just don't know what path to take right now. Since I have a year of IT support experience and decent Linux proficiency, what kind of jobs should I be looking for that will actually help me grow toward that security goal? I’m confused about what specific roles I should be targeting to make that transition.
Problem is I want to go in future at security, right now what help me to get into a job that can significantly help in future at security.
Like day by day cloud is everywhere. RHCSA or Cloud Certification?
Any advice on what to do next would be really appreciated!
