You might recognize the answer. But could you come up with it yourself?

There's a sneaky difference between recognizing something and actually knowing it well enough to retrieve it.

Say you're learning Spanish:

🇪🇸 perro → dog

Easy.

But what happens when we flip it?

🐶 dog → ???

Suddenly your brain has to work a little harder.

That's why we've added Q/A Reversal to Brainscape on the web.

You can now reverse your flashcards so you're prompted with the answer and challenged to retrieve the question.

It's especially useful for things like:

• Foreign-language vocabulary
• Terms and definitions
• Names and concepts
• Any material where you need to recall information in both directions

And yes, studying this way might feel harder.

That's kind of the point.

Being able to recognize the right answer can create an illusion that you've mastered something. Having to produce it yourself is a much better test.

Try reversing one of your decks and see how well you really know it. 👀

What kind of flashcards would you use Q/A Reversal for?
