Positive vaginal breech birth

Excitement!

Hi everyone - especially fellow breech mamas!

I just wanted to share my story, because there wasn't too much when I was pregnant and the ones I found were extremely helpful.

So, my baby didn't want to turn and I was confronted with everyone assuming I would get a C section. Because of a previous loss I was really looking forward to natural child birth. Plus, I wanted to give my baby the chance to choose it's own birthday, whenever he was ready. My midwife really encouraged me to talk to the hospital about natural child birth after the ECV didn't work. In this hospital they have specific criteria for babies and mums before they give the green light to even think about vaginal delivery. Based on my and my baby's bodies they were also very encouraging that I could try vaginal birth. They confirmed me about the risks and benefits of both vaginal birth as well as a C section. They also told me that they would change to a C section quickly, if they didn't have a good feeling.

In this hospital, which is located in Dornbirn, Austria, they have a small number of doctors with experience with vaginal breech births and whenever a woman chooses to try, they organize accordingly.

In the end I ended up giving birth vaginally and it was such an amazing experience that made me feel so strong. The medical staff made me feel like a super hero, everyone was so excited for me to even give it a try.

Obviously having a C section is a wonderful option too, I just wanted to share my experience in case anyone out there is looking for positive breech birth reports. I can only encourage you to look for a hospital with trained medical staff and give it a try, if they say you fit their criteria.

Let me know whether you have any questions.
