Sponsor doesn’t understand house scene or music industry career and it’s creating tension

I work in entertainment and love house and electronic music and the scene there and now have an opportunity to work in the music industry, and my sponsor just views it as partying and keeps pushing me to back out of the house scene and the new opportunity.

I’m super intentional, go for the art/community, only go with sober people, and stay away from the more drug focused side of the scene. I don’t keep in touch with the people that I drank and used with and half of the events are daytime. I love this. Like, my face lit up smiling on the dance floor.

I work in entertainment and also have the ability to transition to a great job in the music industry. She means well but experience with partying is gross top 40 clubs etc and equates my experience with that, and doesn’t know what she doesn’t know about electronic and house music and the scene.
