Baby vomit on couch - any tips for the cushion covers?

Hello all,

I’m posting to ask for any advice. We discovered that our poor baby caught a GI bug when she vomited all over our couch. The couch covers are wool blend fabric and the interior is a combination of feathers on the outside of the cushion and what seems like foam On the inside. The vomit seems to have wet both the wool fabric and the feather layer of the cushion inside. Lucky us….

I have tried our bissell carpet vacuum on the cover and the cushion which seemed to help but now that it has dried we are left with the unpleasant smell of rotting milk. Is there any way to remove this smell? Or is it just time to replace the whole couch? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. We are desperate

Before anyone asks, we bought the couch when we weren’t sure we were going to have a baby and can’t really afford to replace it right now. Our home is small and it’s more or less our only couch 🫠
