When to pump and alcohol
Hi Moms!
FTM here to a 2 week old beautiful baby girl. Breast feeding is going surprisingly well and I’m very grateful. We have her 2 week appointment with the pediatrician tomorrow and they also have lactation consultants on staff which is amazing. I do plan to ask these questions tomorrow but would also like to gather others experiences.
Right now I’m not pumping but would like to do so eventually so that Dad can feed baby once in a while if I need to go to an appointment or something.
Also, my little sisters 21st birthday is on 10/4. Baby will be almost 6 weeks. The lactation consultant at the hospital told me drinking one drink is ok as long as I wait 2 hours after feeding.
Honestly I’m not a big drinker so if it’s not safe or in the best interest of my daughter I’m ok going without - but wondered:
At what point did you start pumping to offer bottles with breast milk once in a while instead of “straight from the tap”?
When did you have your first drink and did you breast feed after? Would it be smarter to just have a bottle on hand to feed her after drinking?
Thanks for sharing your experience and advice!
