Hello everyone, this is not only my first gnome extension but also my first open source project.

Its relevant for people who use AI coding agents. Tokengrill is a gnome extension that sits at the top and displays your remaining / consumed AI tokens.

It supports claude, codex and kiro. Plus, it supports multiple accounts of the same provider (I use 3 codex accounts by changing their home directories to codex2 and codex3 or smthg). It can auto discover these providers

You can configure it to show a particular providers usage at the tip, and the type of limit (5h or weekly) to display.

It uses your local storage and doesnt send any data anywhere

It will notify you for a provider if its usage drops below a threshold you set

The most obvious pain point that led me to build this was that I didnt want multiple extensions for my different oroviders, and I wanted an ease that just blends into my work. Plus i wanted it to be as simple for a user as an extension

Its still under review so it will take a while to appear on extensions, but here is the github link: https://github.com/sh02sahil/token-grill

I built it to work on my machine (gnome 50 wayland) and I could not test for other gnome shell version

If someone think they would love to have something like this I would really appreciate your feedback and how I can improve

Thanks!

I request your opinion on my first gnome extension
