Would you pay more to drive an already-complied import first?

My sister needs a people mover before the school holidays and is stuck between an already-landed Serena she can inspect and drive, or importing a different one from Japan herself. The Japan option looks better on paper, but it means waiting around six to ten weeks and making the call from auction photos, the sheet and inspection report. Has anyone here done both and regretted skipping the already-complied car?
