Questions about software used in the funeral industry

Discussion

Hi everyone,

I'm a software developer looking to build better digital tools specifically tailored for funeral homes.

Before building anything, I want to learn directly from people working in the field rather than making assumptions about what you actually need.

If you have a few minutes, I’d love your take on a few quick questions:

  1. What software (if any) are you currently using for case management, and what is your biggest complaint about it?
  2. How does your team currently handle case handoffs between shifts or updates on a case's current stage (e.g., intake vs. preparation vs. transport)? Is it whiteboards, paper folders, or digital?
  3. If you could instantly fix or automate ONE administrative task that eats up your time, what would it be?

I appreciate your time and all the work you do for grieving families. Thanks in advance for any insights!
