Do I just tell the landlord I’m renting by myself?

Hey all!

I’m trying to rent a 1+1 bedroom for my brother and I and we could split the rent. He stays in the den and I take the bedroom. However, due to his low credit score (due to him getting laid off and not finding a job for over a year) and him only working part time rn since he’s going to school I’m worried they might not accept us. I make over 60k/year and he makes roughly 25-30k/year but he literally just found a par time job in August.

Would it be possible to just tell the landlord that it would just be me living there and obv on the move in day my brother comes and lives with me for the rest of the 1 year lease?

I’m worried that I don’t tell them and it becomes a problem or idk. I don’t have anyone to ask and this would be my first time renting a condo, idk how that works.
