Longest year of our lives
Well, we are 22 days from my 25 weeker son being 1 year old. We’re still in NICU, we’re trached, still being diagnosed with more every day it seems like ( cerebral palsy and epilepsy most recently).
We’re being followed by Pallative care closely now and have all but been told that our son won’t be able to go home. He’s stable.. but not stable enough to realistically go home after we had a 30 minute seizure last week.
We’re worried about his viability and the potential of him living his life in a hospital/facility type setting for his entire stay on this earth.
Is it awful to contemplate a withdrawal of care? It does feel like he’s suffering quite often and I am becoming more and more concerned about it.
