Neighborhoods other than Polanco, Condesa and Roma Norte
Happy Tuesday, everyone! I need help finding a neighborhood to stay in for about a month from mid-Oct to mid-Nov. This is my first trip to Mexico City. Obviously, I am hearing from a whole bunch of people about Polanco, Condesa and RN. But I am also hearing how those are pretty touristy, which is not a huge surprise because that is the case with a lot of big cities.
I am not foolish enough to think that I will have a "truly authentic" experience as a visitor, but I would like to be in a neighborhood that at least has a somewhat local feel. Any suggestions for a first-time visitor such as myself? I would like it to be somewhat central and relatively easy to navigate as a first-time visitor with limited Spanish (improving all the time, but not quite there in terms of fluency). Am I dreaming here, or is this achievable?
