Did your upstairs get worse after topping up the attic insulation?
I had about fourteen inches of cellulose blown in over the old batts in November, on a 1970s two storey in Michigan. I know more insulation isn't supposed to make a room colder and I'm not blaming the material itself. The back bedroom ran two or three degrees below the rest of the house all winter and I got ice at the eaves in January for the first time in the six years I've owned the place. I went up last weekend and the cellulose is packed solid into the soffits along that whole side, no baffles anywhere.
What did it take to get the soffits opened back up once the insulation was already down?
