Combat Academy — Development Update: New Characters, Curses & Multiverse Lore

Hey everyone!

We're currently expanding the Combat Academy universe and its surrounding multiverse with new characters, abilities, and lore.

Here are some of the things we've been working on recently:

🌌 Amaterasu Katsuki — The Keeper of Realities

One of our newest characters is Amaterasu Katsuki, a Japanese guardian whose role exists outside the Combat Academy's normal student hierarchy.

She is known as:

The Keeper of Realities

Amaterasu isn't a student and doesn't have a Level or Rank. She chose her role herself and protects interconnected realities because instability in one universe can eventually affect others.

Her personality is calm, patient, observant, compassionate, and highly responsible. Rather than immediately judging someone, she prefers to listen and understand the situation first.

She also has a unique Curse:

Cosmic Resonance

Cosmic Resonance allows Amaterasu to:

Establish connections with other universes

Observe distant realities

Sense the condition of connected realities

Travel between compatible universes

However, the Curse has limitations.

Extended connections can cause temporary hearing loss, severe tinnitus, and headaches.

Traveling between realities can also cause Resonance Shock, resulting in temporary dizziness, blurred vision, impaired balance, and reduced reaction speed.

The more different the laws of a reality are, the more unstable the connection can become.

And importantly, Cosmic Resonance does not give Amaterasu control over other universes.

It's a power of connection and traversal — not absolute power.

🕶️ Alan Natsusawa

Alan remains one of the major characters connected to the multiverse.

His Curses include:

The Veil — Allows Alan to travel between certain universes while protecting him from realities where survival would be essentially impossible.

The Warden — A guardian Curse connected to the memories and identity of someone Alan was deeply connected to.

We're continuing to develop how these Curses interact with Alan and the multiverse.

✨ Divine Powers

We've also been expanding the Divine Power system.

Current concepts include:

Divine Light — Healing, purification, protection, restoration, and hope.

Divine Darkness — Destruction, suppression, fear, and the ability to weaken or seal supernatural abilities at a significant cost.

Divine Resurrection — Reconnects a departed soul with its body through the Divine Resurrection Staff. The duration can range from temporary restoration to permanent resurrection, with increasingly severe consequences.

These powers are separate from the Aura system and from Curses.

🌌 The Multiverse

The story is no longer limited to a single universe.

We've been developing several connected realities, each with its own atmosphere, rules, characters, and conflicts.

Some currently established realities include:

Combat Academy

Dark Universe

Fresh Universe

Other realities that are still being developed

Amaterasu's role is to observe these connections and protect their stability when necessary.

This also opens the possibility of characters from completely different realities encountering each other.

And honestly...

That's probably where things are going to get chaotic. 💀

More characters, abilities, and lore are currently in development.

What do you think of the direction we're taking the universe?
