Good afternoon all, so I’ve got a new client this year that essentially hired me to redo most of their landscape and while everything else has been pretty simple so far. However, now that I’ve gotten the easy stuff out of the way I’ve come to the last and most major part of the job, repairing a heavily eroded walking path area along the side of the house.

The issue seems to stem from the fact that the timbers that were holding everything are completely rotted away and probably have been for years. The soil itself is rather sandy, and pretty close to a riverside area, but fortunately it hasn’t started to erode out from under the house on either side yet, and it doesn’t appear as though the foundation is damaged or sinking yet, so I shouldn’t need to do anything major. The customer isn’t wanting anything fancy, just a restore to what it was before, so based on my assessment of the area I should be able to rebuild the terracing and back fill each section before replacing the stones on top of it.

I’ve got some minor experience building terraces in my backyard for drainage/erosion control, but it was nothing like whats seen in the pictures. So I’m looking for advice from anyone with experience on something like this. Would it be as straightforward as I believe it to be, or is there some key info I should be aware of before starting on this? I also haven’t agreed on a price with them yet, so any suggestions with regard to that are welcome.
