Does anyone else struggle with "monologuing" shutdown when your parent interrupts or misinterprets your excitement?

Newly Diagnosed

I’m kinda stuck in a painful cycle with my mom, and I want to know if this is an autism trait or if I’m actually just being selfish asshole. (i'm officially diagnosed since about a year ago)

I am a MASSIVE monologuer. when I'm particularly fascinated or riled up about something, I have a deep, physical need to infodump.

Most of the time it’s fine, and my mom is super awesome about it, but if something "doesn't go my way" (interruptions, disagreements, she misinterprets me) that ecstatic, happy feeling can vanish and I completely lose the mood to talk.

Then she gets angry when she says to continue and I tell her I don't want to anymore.

I’m not trying to be petty.the energy is just completely gone, so I just want to walk away mildly annoyed but just done.

Today I wanted to discuss a fascinating but frustrating topic I’ve been looking into: the trend of "fake-claiming" in online neurodivergent spaces.

Because I experience emotions very intensely, I started by saying, "Something that really makes me angry..."

My mom completely fixated on that and kept interrupting to tell me "you shouldn't let ignorant assholes online bug you."

I tried to correct her and explain that I wasn't actually consumed by rage. I just wanted to analyze the systemic damage this causes.

But she wouldn't let me finish, got defensive, and said I can't handle her talking back or disagreeing, and that I just want to use her so she should just "shut up" so i can talk and leave when i want.

Now I feel like an asshole (like I've felt most of my life due to this and other issues).

I’ve tried the whole 19 years of my life to suppress the urge to infodump, but I literally cannot contain it. Does anyone else experience this intense shutdown when your monologue gets derailed?

I just don't know what to do, and i still feel like i'm in the right...
