S3E10 Plot Weirdness

!Why did the raiders attack the rebels trying to plug the pipe, inside the mine tunnel? I am assuming there are no cameras that deep inside the mines. The only shots of Silo 1 viewing the raiders attacking the rebels are from outside the mines. If they're not trying to poison the mines and they are aware that they are taking O2 tanks instead of poison just to put on a show for Silo 1, then why attack them inside the mines?!<
