Just because they’re your family doesn’t mean you have to Love them.
I’ve been thinking about this one for quite a while and have a mixed feelings about it. It may sound harsh and cruel to others but this doesn’t mean i can live without a family. But sometimes those family of yours doesn’t deserve you. Sometimes you have to be a little selfish than too selfless or else you’ll lose yourself.
Beliefs/Opinions
Their beliefs/opinions makes me dislike them more. I’m an atheist and have no problem with other religions but why are my family so hypocritical? They think just because they’re Christians that they’re above than anyone else like they’re so kind and respectful. But I think otherwise.
• They’re extremely homophobic
I really can’t comprehend the fact that anyone’s a homophobic, because why are you so judgemental and hateful towards them just because they’re not living the same life as yours? My family members once said “if any of my siblings is part of it I’ll choke the living shit out of them” like why? why don’t you just let people live there lives?
•Personality
My dad is a narcissist, my mom is a passive aggressive person, with anger issues and more, my brothers and sister too. And me. But I don’t think I’m narcissistic and passive aggressive but I do have anger issues which I’m still trying to fix but can’t seem to do so.
•Fatphobic
If they’re fat who cares?? It’s not your body maybe sometimes it’s really unhealthy but you don’t know what they’re going through. At this point my family are just really hateful.
I know I’m different from them. And when I say my opinion they either get offended and angry or just doesn’t care. But that’s fine though that’s what makes it better when I’m going to leave the house, I’m not getting hurt anymore I won’t miss them. I can’t wait to leave the house. I can’t wait to leave the country and never see them again. I want my freedom. I know whenever I return home from school nobody wants me home, and that’s fine I don’t want to be home either.
Life at home is basically a daily grind in a pressure cooker. It’s a constant loop of walking on eggshells around narcissistic behavior, endless triggers, and zero appreciation, keeping the nervous system stuck in total fight-or-flight mode. Home is the exact opposite of a safe space it's suffocating, exhausting, and breeds a deep, burning daily rage. Because there's no real emotional support or safety to be found, every single day is weighed down by carrying a massive load completely alone, driving that relentless, burning urge to just pack up, get out, and finally find some peace.
If you’re having problems having fun at home with your family don’t feel guilty to leave them. It may hurt a while for leaving but it’ll be worth it.
