Parent of child 15 nonbinary, won't talk to me.

I've had some real issues with my child (AuDHD) choosing to sever ties because of my "homophobic and transphobic" beliefs. They have never said they were upset with me but just became more distant after a intense conversation with my partners child that has since transitioned. I held no contempt for their choices or anything, it was about being completely lazy and detaching from being productive as a human. I have a child in my home transitioning and I'm still labeled a transphobe. It's maddening!

Now before the letter army comes down on me.....this isn't true. I've never been a transphobe or homophobe. I have friends all over the spectrum of queerness. I've been presented as this by the mother of our child that I am a "bad influence". I talk about all the things....I chose to live in one of the most progressive (aggressively so) cities in this nation. Some words were taken out of context and my child has completely cut ties with me. They would never discuss anything with me that was considered for women.....being shunned for things that are considered feminine.

I have nothing to be sorry for.....nothing to apologize for. I did nothing wrong yet I haven't seen or spoke to my child since the mother and my child filed in family court the allegations.....all to just push me around and make me not involved in my child's life.

My ex is very manipulative and even our common daughter (now 25) does not trust her. She wouldn't even let her new baby be around this woman because she's afraid of the manipulation.

I've gone looking for other parents that have been going through this.....but I don't see it. I see many of this community saying they were disowned.....is there a prevalence of lgbtq children choosing to take their parents out of their life and burn that bridge?

It's so very sad.....but I'm also so pissed that I've been publicly labeled. It's slander and untrue....yet what can I do? The court is being used against me and all of a sudden I need to repair a relationship that I didn't want to lose.

Sincerely,

An estranged parent, with nothing to be sorry for.
