White on White order is in! Multiple EV houshold
Reservation placed 3/27/26, available for order 8/22/26, finally pulled the trigger today.
We're a fully electric household. I drive a 2017 Model S 100D, both of parents drive A 2023 Rivian R1s and a 2022 Polestar 2.
Now that my partner's 2024 Lyric Sport 1 is coming off the lease, we've committed to Rivian R2 after doing many test drives.
BMW/Merc - Didn't bother looking, do not want the brand association.
Audi - Too expensive, even base E-Tron is $8k more than a fully loaded R2. Add some tech packages, etc,. now we're looking at almost a $75-80k MSRP. For smaller space than Rivian R2
Lucid - Air and Gravity are both amazing, but price point is higher than we wanted. Gravity has doors that swing out 90 degrees, makes getting children in and out SO much easier. The space is GINORMOUS. Ultimately if we could find a used Gravity Grand Touring for around $60-$70k, we would be buying that. More than likely that will be my replacement for my Model S in the next 2-3 years.
Polestar - PS4 is an amazing vehicle, with $25k discount off MSRP. Limited inventory and the digital rear view mirror forced us into a Rivian R2, especially with ventilated seats.
Porsche - Macan EV. Price point too high, space too small, customization becomes very expensive and used inventory is limited, finding options/colors we wanted was difficult. Amazing handling and driving! However, no one pedal drive.
Honda/Chevy/etc,. - Interior quality/options, tech, and overall dimensions not what we wanted.
Ultimately this is going to be a 10 year car that fits our family perfectly. Secured a 4.49% APR, 60 month term through a credit union. So for those shopping around on financing, check your local credit unions!
