RADICAL TRAINERS ARE RIDICULOUS

Before you call me salty and tell me to just be better, I have to mention EVERYTHING first.

I am using Electrode with MAX SPEED EV'S, MAX SPEED IV'S, and JOLLY NATURE

can someone, ANYONE AT ALL, please tell me how a while I was battling the rival and going up against his darmanitan, HOW THE ACTUAL HECK DID HE MANAGE TO OUTSPEED MY ELECTRODE? Looking at Darmanitan's moveset, there are NO PRIORITY MOVES on hand for him to use to outspeed my Electrode.

This isn't even the first instance that it happened, I just figured maybe I'm missing something or lacked speed ev training. BUT NO. It makes absolutely no sense.

Can someone please help me out here on how or why is this possible.
