What would cause a lnl x3300 from communicating with Onguard?

I swapped a 2000 with an x3300 and changed it to the same IP. My programmer is able to ping it but it shows offline in Onguard. My programmer wants me to flatten it but I have a feeling that's not going to work and it could potentially be on his end.
