The story of Huey Long's assassination. Baton Rouge, LA. 1935.
A young doctor named Carl Weiss stepped out from behind a pillar in the Louisiana State Capitol building and shot 42 year old governor Huey Long. Weiss was motivated by the ongoing legal battle between Long and Weiss' father-in-law.
Long's bodyguards shot Weiss more than 60 times, killing him. Long died thirty hours later.
Long is buried on the capitol grounds under a statue of himself.
