Can you actually become seriously wealthy in Algeria and keep your money clean and halal?

🏘️ society

I’m not talking about having a good salary, a house, or living comfortably. I mean real wealth: businesses, property, investments, millions.

I’m asking this because I know people in very different sectors, and somehow I keep seeing the same patterns: m3arifa, bribes, shady import practices, political connections, under-the-table deals, tax tricks, and sometimes things that are simply illegal.

So for me, this is not just هدرة القهاوي. It’s based on things I’ve personally seen and heard around me.

And even when the core business itself is legitimate, does that automatically make the money clean? If a business owner becomes extremely wealthy while paying workers the bare minimum and taking advantage of people who have few alternatives, maybe it’s legal but morally, and especially from a halal perspective, واش بصح نقدروا نقولو هذا رزق حلال؟

But what I find even stranger is society’s reaction.

Sometimes people know a certain person is shady. They know where part of the money comes from, they know he’s involved in illegal stuff, they know the stories around him… and somehow the treatment doesn’t change.

If anything, the richer he becomes, the more people respect him, flatter him, laugh at everything he says and try to get close to him. كي يكون عندو الدراهم، كلش يتنسى.

We complain about corruption all day, but when the corrupt guy is standing in front of us with money and status, suddenly he becomes راجل ناجح and يعرف يدبر راسو.

So I’m genuinely curious:

Do you personally know someone who built serious wealth in Algeria while staying genuinely clean no bribes, no shady connections, no exploitation, no illegal shortcuts?

Or is clean money possible only until you reach a certain level?

And maybe the bigger question is: do we actually hate corruption, or do we only hate being excluded from it?
