I recently purchased a used P30 in .40 S&W and I’m trying to figure out exactly what configuration it is. It was sold as a V3, and the original case is marked “P30 V3 .40 S&W.” The serial on the case matches the pistol.

What has me confused is the trigger/hammer setup. It has a bobbed hammer and a functional rear decocker.

When I rack the slide the external hammer returns forward. The trigger has a long and light pull, like you might expect on an LEM trigger. When I press the rear decocker and there is an audible click, and the next trigger pull is substantially heavier, when I rack the slide again the lighter trigger pull returns.

I also own another P30 .40 V3, and its operation is different. That one has a spurred hammer that can be manually cocked and operates as conventional DA/SA with the decocker. The hammer on this one cannot be manually cocked like my other P30 in the sense that it does not remain locked back.

Does anyone know what configuration the pistol in the photos is, or recognize this combination of bobbed hammer and functional decocker?

I am interested in figuring out what I actually have and whether this is an original HK configuration or something that was changed at some point.
